One Day in Cambridge

So last week I had two lovely little visitors in London - both who have been here lots of times in the past, or else lived here for a few years! So needless to say, though they haven't seen everything in London (impossible) they've seen a good bit! So, we decided to get out of the city for a while, and headed to Cambridge. We got the train from Finsbury Park straight to Cambridge on an open return ticket for about a tenner each. The day got off to a rocky start, with some mizzzzzzzzzzerable rain showers but eventually cleared up for a lovely dry day. We went into the Polar Museum for a little nosey around before heading into the center of Cambridge for a look in the market and lunch at SmokeWorks - AMAZING would highly recommend it - tasty AF pulled pork! We went for coffee at Second Cup - get the double chocolate cookie if you're going, it was to dieeeeee for! We pretty much just walked around and took in the sights for the rest of the day until we went on a little punt down the river - definitely a highlight, I really loved this. You get to see a lot of the uni buildings and all the famous bridges, plus a little bit of history and funny stories from the guide (we had a girl guide - I was delighted! GIRL POWER). We had dinner at Don Pasquale on the market square and headed back to London at about 9.30, after spending over 9 hours in Cambridge! It was so lovely, and a great destination for a day trip if you have some free time in London!
