Travel | Spinola Bay, St Julian's, Paceville

Finally getting around to blogging about my trip to Malta! We stayed on this beautiful island for ten days and it was amazing. We stayed at a cute little hotel called the Allegro Hotel which was right in the centre of everything, but facing the wrong direction (if that makes sense) so there was no noise from the street or anything. The staff are honestly the nicest I have ever come across in a hotel, they were so friendly and genuinely lovely and; they loved a friendly hello and a little chat in the mornings. There was a pool on the roof, and even though it was small and freeeeeeeeezing, it was great to have that option instead of going to the beach. There was only ever one or two other people up there so we pretty much had it to ourselves which was amazing. The hotel is situated in St Julians and was a two minute walk from Spinola Bay which is so pretty and full up of colourful Maltese fishing boats, and also has this random but super cool LOVE statue with loads of love locks! There is an awesome bar/restaurant just beside Spinola Bay called Cuba, I would highly recommend a Cuba Libre or a Frozen Strawberry Mojito (especially during happy hour!) and the food there is amaaaazing. Il Buco is also brilliant for those mornings you're craving a fry up, and the pastizzerias all around the area are the best thing ever invented. €1 for a ginormo slice of pizza ah yeah plz. The streets around St Julian's and Spinola Bay are so cute, I'd advise just walking around and going down all of the little alleyways and back ways and just taking it all in. St Julian's is right next to Paceville on the other side and the strip is full of great bars and nightclubs like Fuego - a very Moroccan feeling rooftop cocktail bar - and Footloose, a very very fun nightclub.
